Who we are for the planet!
Parknasilla Resort and Spa is one of the few hotels in Ireland located in a special area of conservation, in Kenmare Bay. Our location is our biggest treasure, hence we treat it as such, making sure we are constantly working together and delivering measurements to promote a more sustainable work environment. The protection of our community is fundamental to us.
Protecting Wildlife and Marina
Most all of our 500 acres, especially along the cost, remains wild and untouched, as well as our marina, making it the perfect place for diversity and wildlife. Parknasilla resort and Spa is a proud home for a wide range of different animals whose habitat remains in the resort. Lots of different species, birds, foxes and many others have made Parknasilla their home, and this is only possible thanks to the lack of chemicals, insecticides or any other substances that are harmful to the environment.
Guided by experts
We do our best to promote and engage all of our guests with the beauty of our Nature, by doing so we offer not only amazing experiences but also Education to the guests who stay at Parknasilla. We have our own Eco-System consultant Vincent Hyland who continually assists us and provides us not only with ideas, and recommendations to what is best to protect our resort and community, but he also offers informative discovery guided walks around the seashore of the resort. At Parknasilla Resort & Spa we believe that the best way to promote a sustainable environment is by promoting active engagement and education, to both our guests and our staff.
In the heart of Kerry No.1 Sustainable Tourism Destination
Parknasilla Resort and Spa is also located in County Kerry, which has been voted Ireland’s #1 Sustainable Tourism Destination, #13 in Global Destinations and #6 in Europe. The Kingdom of Kerry is home for innovation and improvements of new ways to be constantly greener; committing to provide sustainable tourism in the hospitality industry.
Dark Sky Reserve
We are also proud to mention we are only a few km away from the Kerry Dark Sky Reserve; Sky reserves are only possible where there is a clear sky without any light pollution, which proves the pureness of our resort and our surroundings.
What we have done and are doing
As mentioned before, we are constantly looking for ways to improve and to reduce our footprint in the environment. Some of the things we have achieved along the years involved:
