Céad Míle Fáilte
Our staff are the very soul of Parknasilla and they embody our internal mission of “heartfelt hospitality”. Céad Míle Fáilte a traditional Gaelic welcome meaning a “Hundred thousand welcomes”. The name Parknasilla conjures up many warm memories for our returning guests and creates an expectation of elegance, freedom and beauty for those visiting for the first time.
It is often said that in a great hotel the staff know the guest’s names but it is an exceptional hotel that guests know the staff and their families names.
We look forward to welcoming you whether it be for the first time or the fortieth time!!
A tradition of great hospitality
Our story is about our 126 year rich heritage, our stunning natural beauty, true hospitality, and our indelible connection with nature.
Noble Laureate and Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw said it perfectly when he wrote about Parknasilla whilst in residence in 1925…..
A rich heritage
Parknasilla enjoys a rich heritage dating back to 1692 with the Manor House that we know today designed by the eminent architect James Franklin Fuller on the instruction of the Great Southern & Western Railway and the hotel welcomed its first guests in 1895.
Presidents and poets, royalty and writers, actors and actress have chosen Parknasilla as their haven of rest, relaxation and inspiration, now you can follow in their footsteps!
Always trying to improve
It is always our mission to enhance and improve what we do and what we offer. The resort saw the addition of the Woodland Villas and the Courtyard Lodges in 2008. Our spectacular Oceanside Spa, Pool, and Thermal Suite was added during this phase of development. To meet the needs of our younger family visitors we have developed a plethora of new activities, curated experiences and family adventure opportunities.
The Kitchen Garden and Orchard are now flourishing at Derryquin Castle. More recent additions include Dorothy’s Beach , our Vitality Pool on the pier and our very popular Boarding Kennels.
