Job Description for Buildings & Utilities Services Operative

Parknasilla Resort & Spa is currently recruiting for a full time Buildings & Utilities Services Operative who is highly motivated, well organised and passionate in delivering a memorable experience to all our guests.

Objective of the Role

To ensure that the resort is maintained to the highest standard and to ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times within the hotel/resort.

Role information:

  • Hotel facilities maintenance throughout
  • Complete general maintenance on a daily basis by carrying out of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance routines as per the departmental requirements in tiling, plumbing, carpentry.
  • Work with the Facilities Manager to support all ongoing projects
  • At all times ensure Health & Safety standards are followed.
  • To ensure all maintenance procedures are kept up to date.
  • To work pro-actively to eliminate maintenance issues that arise around the resort
  • Work with external contractors where necessary
  • To have a positive attitude towards fixing issue that arise and in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Excellent work history in maintenance, 2-3 years ideally
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment would be advantageous
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • An excellent knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Flexibility in day-to-day job demands with excellent organisational skills
  • Plumbing qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Carpentry skills would be desirable
  • Safe pass certification would be an advantage.
  • Some weekend work will be required
  • Have a good command of the English Language
