Covid- 19 Prevention and Safety Measures at Parknasilla Resort & Spa
Your Safety is our Priority
Our specially appointed COVID-19 response team are continuously monitoring our resort safety measures to ensure your wellbeing and peace of mind when staying at Parknasilla. The following are some of the processes we have in place to ensure that you have a safe and restful stay.
Pre-Arrival/ Arrival at Parknasilla
Arrival and check-in procedures will vary depending on what type of lodging that you have reserved.
Prior to arrival we encourage that you engage with our regular email communications as these will inform you the most up to date procedures and guidelines.
Guests are required to wear a face mask while moving through the public areas of the hotel. Face masks may be removed while seated in our lounges, restaurant and bar areas. A face mask must be worn outdoors if participating in one of our Curated Experiences and Adventure Activities where other guests are present.
Check-in will be minimised for your safety and convenience. Please do not arrive at the resort before 4 pm so that we can adhere to Government Public Health protocols in relation to physical distancing and provide your accommodation with the highest standard of deep cleaning and sanitisation.
For your convenience, there are reserved set down only spaces close to the hotel where you can unload your luggage. Valet parking is not available. Assistance with your luggage is by request and porters will follow hygiene protocols in handling your luggage.
We have implemented a one-directional people traffic flow on the ground floor of the hotel. Please follow the directional signage and entrance is via the main door past the flag poles and exit is via the side door. Each access and exit point is equipped with hand sanitiser.
We have increased our frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of all public areas with special attention to high touchpoints such as handrails, reception areas, door handles, elevator call buttons, and seating areas.
Several Hand sanitiser stations have been installed throughout the resort for both staff and guest use.
Staff at Parknasilla
Before opening for the 2021 season all team members will be retrained and receive a documented induction in all matters of hygiene, health and safety in accordance with HSE guidelines and government Return To Work protocols.
All staff employed are monitored for any symptoms of Covid-19 daily and there is a documented emergency action plan in place in the event of a staff member displaying symptoms of COVID-19.
Regular meetings of the senior management team take place to review and update internal operating procedures to reflect updated official recommendations.
All Staff members will wear Face Masks and some staff may wear additional PPE if deemed necessary for health and safety reasons and in accordance with Hotel Policy. Reception Desks, podiums, and welcome areas will all have protective screens in situ to protect both staff and guests when interacting.
In addition to the hand washing routine, staff will be using hand sanitisation gels rated above 60% alcohol
Accommodation at Parknasilla
All linens and towels have been laundered to the highest standard in accordance to HSE guidelines.
All areas of your accommodation have been deep cleaned and sanitised by our trained staff.
Some items such as reading materials have been removed for health and safety reasons.
Dining at Parknasilla
Lounge and Restaurant areas will be rearranged to adhere to social distancing measures and our team are implementing new reservation procedures. Dining is exclusive to our Resort Residents. Breakfast will be an À la carte menu served at the table, no buffet table, reservations required for Courtyard Lodge and Woodland Villa guests. Continental breakfast is available for hotel room service with delivery charge.
We offer the following Dining Options:-
Hotel Dining: Lounge/Bar area and the Pygmalion restaurant will offer an À la carte menu available from 12 noon to 9 pm with a selection of daily specials on offer for evening dining. Reservation procedures will be in place for Resort Residents. We will correspond with you in advance of your arrival in relation to your dining plans. At time of writing we are not in a position to handle dining reservations as we await clarity from Government and NPHET in relation to Social Distancing guidelines in public areas. Public Health Advice states that the maximum number of guests seated at one table is six persons and your allocated time at the table is a maximum of 105 minutes.
The Tram: Our “Street Food Offering” Located near The Woodland Villas servicing take-away casual dining from 5 pm to 9 pm daily. The Tram is OPEN from early Spring until Halloween.
Railway Express Cafe: Limited seating with take-out coffee and snacks available located in the hotel.
Activities at Parknasilla
Golf: 12 hole course open with guidelines from GUI
Tennis: Two tennis courts with tennis racket hire available
Archery: Our trained Archery instructors allow you to experience the excitement of the Bow & Arrow.
Owl display with Andy: available free of charge details posted on in-house TV Infotainment system
Shoreline Eco Walks with Vincent Hyland, conducted in family hubs and with physical distancing observed. Free of charge
Swimming Pool: Swimming Pool: Open from 8 am to 8 pm daily. Numbers in the Pool at any one time will
be restricted to allow physical distancing. Our swimming pool and hot tubs are consistently monitored to ensure the correct chlorine levels are maintained at all times.
The swimming pool area and changing rooms will be regularly sanitised throughout the day with ECOLAB approved materials and in accordance with IHF guidelines. Full details on
accessing the swimming pool and the booking procedure involved will be communicated with confirmation e-mails.
Outdoor Fresh Seawater Hot Tub our latest addition to Parknasilla, enjoy the energising benefits of relaxing in our open air hot tub with tranquil views of the sea and estuary.
Gym will be open with reduced access due to physical distancing restrictions.
Spa treatments: we are pleased to tell you that our spa is now open.
All walks are open, we request that you follow directional and safety signage.
Guided Sea Kayaking Tours around the islands and inlets with Noel available with reservation.
RIB excursions on the Kenmare Bay can be reserved by a single party/family group at a time.
